The Somers Youth Wrestling Team teaches the great sport of Wrestling to Somers Student athletes from Kindergarten through 6th grade.

The Somers Youth Wrestling Team works closely with the Somers High School Varsity Team under the direction of Varsity Head Coach Ron DiSanto Jr and Varsity Assistant Coach Chris Kumrow.

The Somers Youth Wrestling Team's SEASON starts on Monday 12/2/19 and concludes the first week of March.

 
Practices are held Monday, Wednesday & Thursday -OR- Friday from 6:30PM until 8:00PM in The Somers High School Wrestling Room.  

Wrestling Shoes and Wrestling Head Gear are required.

Competing in area wrestling tournaments is completely optional.

The Somers Youth Wrestling Team will attend and provide coaching ONLY at the following area wrestling tournaments during this season:
John Jay Cross River
Pleasantville
Brewster
Mahopac

Somers Youth Wrestling Team Members wanting to compete in any tournament must purchase a USA Wrestling Card from USA Wrestling. Available here: https://www.uhttps://www.usawmembership.com/loginsawmembership.com/login

Wrestlers wanting to attend the New York State Youth Regional Qualifying Tournament in an attempt to qualify for the New York State Youth Championship Tournament must inform the Somers Youth Wrestling Team Coaches prior to doing so, so proper coaching can be scheduled and travel arrangements made.

Somers Youth Wrestling is a USA Wrestling Chartered Wrestling Club

The Somers Youth Wrestling Team strictly adhears to the SYSO code of conduct for participants, parents and guardians. 

With the exception of the first week for NEW wrestlers, the wrestling room is for coaches and wrestlers only. We encourage parents/guardians to enjoy the free time. The commons area has free WiFi if you want to stay.
